Food wise, nothing really changed, they're still keeping everything their way: easy, unpretentious and hassle free, only this time they bring some new dishes to their menu list and I'll be reviewing it here. Here's a tip for you: if you're a first timer to Chopstix, go straight with their Nasi Goreng selections, can't really decide which one is my favorite (or maybe can: their Nasi Goreng Kampung), they have so many options on their menu list, everything looks tempting, but their signature Nasi Goreng is a classic delicacy that never fails to impress me, and oh ask for that runny sunny side up + more crackers to accompany!
...and oh, my Muslim friends don't need to worry about them because they're 100% HALAL!
A big lunch huh?
One of their newest menus: Mie Ijo Ayam Kyoto - IDR 39.9k (more below so keep scrolling and reading)
Another guide to Chopstix first timer: the fresh pickle is always in store, do ask for this if you fancy one, also for me their homemade sambal and chili oil never fails to elevate that extra kick that I want, and oh, they labeled certain menus if they are spicy, but actually you can request the spiciness level for most of their wok-fried dishes, or noodle soup dishes. I always go with the extra spicy Nasi Goreng Kampung!
Lumpia Goreng Chopstix - IDR 44k
No doubt about this one, has been a favorite of mine for a long time!
Mie Dokdok - IDR 36k
Another one that I often order when dining here: Mie Dokdok! If you've been following me for some time I think you knew that I am a major soup person, when I dine out, I always look for soups to accompany my main meal, or if I'm left with options, most of the time I would go with soup above anything else! If you're familiar with Mie Tektek, you can consider Mie Dokdok as its sibling as they share pretty much the same ingredients, only Mie Dokdok is soupy, Chopstix's version of Mie Dokdok is bold, mild-spicy (for me) but if you want more kick of spiciness, go request for one....and of course, KERUPUK for life!!!
Mie Ijo Ayam Kyoto - IDR 35k
This one is one of their new menus that I'd happily recommend you guys to indulge! The green coloring is natural from Horenzo leaves extraction so we can all agree that it's natural and beneficial for health too. Don't let the red meat fool ya because it looked like typical red pork but I can guarantee you that it's actually chicken and it's beautifully seasoned: savory with a tiny hint of sweet. The noodle itself is chewy with the right firmness. All this, with the mix of their homemade chili is a combo you can't hate!Horenzo noodle!
Hong Kong Beef Brisket Noodle - IDR 42.8kAnother soup based dish for those who're craving comfort from a
Bee Hun Goreng Chopstix - IDR 43k
This is apparently one of their new menus when I thought this was already in their menu for a long time, I mean after looking at selections of Nasi and Mie Goreng, This Bihun Goreng must be somewhere but maybe I wasn't paying attention to that, anyway BOY THIS WAS SO DELICIOUS! What's your typical bee hun goreng? If your answer is the one with Wok-hei aroma and a bit of a smokey flavor then I guess we have the similar taste and you're going to love this one as much as I do. This is just so simple yet so good!!!
