We are inviting you to join us in recognizing and celebrating the best and brightest minds and the most captivating and memorable parts of the internet that we inhabit.
You can make your own mark in the event by casting your votes, and nominating the people and companies you believe deserve it. Don’t forget to discuss it across social media as we appreciate the shining beacons that make the internet vibrant.
This Year’s Theme is:
StarTech: Empowering the Tech Generation
There has been an enduring legend that has inspired all of us for decades, one that follows the crews of a Federation’s most advanced vessels on adventures through the stars. The voyages that these enterprising souls embarked on inspired generations. Charismatic leaders and their talented crews grappled with questions of morality, pondered the future of technology and most importantly confronted the challenges that they faced.
The lessons learned and imaginations inspired by that legend have been felt throughout the internet. The last year has been difficult. Tragedies we once considered inconceivable have happened while problems we have been grappling with have not stopped complicating our lives.
Our theme, StarTech, was chosen to recognize two things.
First, the immensely challenging environment that we’ve all come to live in. Just as those crews dealt with the challenges of deep space so too have we had to deal with the aftermath of a pandemic, climate change and much more.
Second, we intend to remember that the internet is a vibrant and exciting part of our lives. Though it doesn’t hold new life in undiscovered planets, it brings ideas, talent and escapism in equal and abundant measure.
We hope that you will join us in embracing the spirit of the event.
This Year’s Catagories Are:
We have grouped our awards into five categories that each encompass exciting and expanding sectors of the internet.
Emerging Tech
In prehistoric times, fire and wheel were emerging tech.
Today, the standards might be a little higher, the impact a little distributed, but the potential to disrupt reality as we know it is still boundless. Noonies’ Emerging Tech Category Awards, in partnership with .TECH Domain by Radix, celebrates those individuals of the tech world that made the biggest strides towards the fulfillment of that potential
Gaming
The archetypal gamer has since evolved from a kid that made parents worry about a vitamin D deficiency. Today, a typical gamer is an individual of any age or gender, from a pool of over 2 billion people; patrons of an industry that is bigger that both the film and music industries combined. This award honors the studios, developers, and games that give the gamer in all of us a means to escape, compete or even earn a living. Thank you for your creativity, dedication, and uncanny talent.
Internet Heroes
The Internet is a mirror of the collective human psyche. And if we are anything, we are chaotic people. The internet, just like the people that give it life, is an imperfect entity; rife with the propensity for good or downright terrible. However, just as light banishes darkness, we hope that the good and reasonable initiatives- on the World Wide Web- continue to thrive. This category shines a light on the thinkers, builders; and of course; users that ensure that the gift of the internet keeps giving.
Programming
Tech is both the future and the road that will get us there. Whether it’s an adjacent digital reality- that integrates seamlessly with a tangible one- or an app that tracks your heart rate, we depend more and more on innovative solutions to problems we didn’t even know we had. Software developers are the creative minds that help build these solutions, and by doing so light our path to an exciting future. This category puts the spotlight on the builders that improve our lives on a daily basis.
