What It Feels Like to Close Two Marketing Campaigns on the Same Day

 March 15, 2022     No comments

Look, I may be a little biased, but I think HackerNoon has one of the best selections of humans working for them in the whole world ( literally, we're remote). I knew on my first day that there was something genuinely special about this platform and group of people. It felt strangely like joining a friend group that I had been a part of since I was little. I continue to feel like everyone on the team -- and actually a lot of the people who interact with the platform -- are like unique versions of me. I'm not sure I've ever felt this way so significantly, and I've worked with awesome people in the past.

Anyhow, part of working with really cool people and trying fascinating new concepts for ideas, is that sometimes taking things from concept to execution (which by the way is incredible to have the opportunity to do) requires quite the intense hustle on the part of different departments on the team.

We had decided to announce the winners for both of the Noonies and -first time ever- Startups campaign, on the same day, (for Valentine's Day), and we pulled through!

What that entailed behind the scenes was notable.

We had to create a system for both of the award platforms which would generate individual winner awards and award links, we needed to have a design that worked with the systems, we also needed to make sure the copy for all of the blogs and emails was ready to go, all while quoting and linking the correct materials. Furthermore, we needed to make sure to test and deliver all of this on time.

On top of this, we have an exciting new option on HackerNoon regarding tech pages, which we had to create for thousands of winners. Thank you to our star dev Marcos for writing the script to make that happen.

There will be a further Slogging draft about what went into delivering those projects, but the bottom line is we did it!!!

ellenBrain (the quirky way I like to refer to myself-- check it, I have my own tag) likes to acknowledge when people do good work!

Thank you to everyone on the team, as well as to everyone who participated in the campaigns in one way or another!!! I look forward to everything we will be able to share together in 2022 and beyond!

Below is Ellen deciding to give everyone on the team a props. As she does.

Um, y’alll, yaaaaaalll, I’m stoked and super proud. I think it’s incredible what we did today. We closed two major campaigns in one day, ON TIME, and created individually crafted awards for almost 5K people. ( Plus the tech pages - yes I see you Marcos! David has been wanting those to happen forever!!) That’s incredible y’all. Y’all, I can’t.

We likely made so many people’s day better today. What a way to show up and deliver. BAM.  Happy Valentine’s Day ❤ Thank you to all of the excellent humans who made this possible. What a team effort! Next level y’all. Absolutely stunned <3  For those of you who have lives outside of work, I hope you take a minute to yourself to enjoy, have some bubbly, do whatever it is you like. For everyone else, see you on Slack, we did it! So BOSS y’all!

Linh you don’t call me out like that :dead-inside:

Well you recruited Beni because of it I knew it :savage-joy:

I actually worked on Saturday so I can spend some time today with my lady haha but normally I'm in that gang for-sure.

SEE Y'ALLL
